CHC30212 Certificate III in Aged Care

Our CHC30212 Certificate III in Aged Care is designed to give the student entry into the aged care sector as a personal care assistant. The course modules are structured to provide a balanced program of theory and practice, relevant to the career opportunities across the aged care industry .

Aims of the Course

Students may do this course as an entry pathway into the aged care industry. Our CHC30212 Certificate III in Aged Care course is directed towards developing multi-skilled workers for the broad range of services supporting aged people in residential and community settings.

Admission Criteria

You will need to have completed year 10, or equivalent or mature age students. Equivalency can be demonstrated by one of the following:

  • A qualification at Certificate II level or higher OR
  • 2 years industry experience in a role that requires the use of written documentation and communication.

Age 18 years old and above.

  • For mature age students who do not meet the academic qualifications above will be considered for admission and need to attend an interview.

Be able to use and respond to written language, including some unfamiliar material in a variety of contexts. Successfully complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy test (LLN) .

Obtain a satisfactory Police Clearance Certificate, Working with Children Check for Work Experience Placement, as applicable.

 

For blended delivery the student must have access to a computer with internet and basic computer skills.

Duration

Total duration: 545 hours including work experience placement of one month delivered in one semester.

Mode of Delivery

This program is available in face to face (4 weeks workshop) delivery mode in Melbourne and Sydney campuses, comprising:

  1. Class room learning at campus
  2. Self-directed learning at campus
  3. Simulation-based training and assessment at campus
  4. Work Experience Placement in an aged care setting - these can be arranged by either the student or we can find one for you.
  5. Benefit Offers: Free PD courses - Manual Handling and Apply First Aid.

This program is available in blended delivery mode, comprising:

  1. Self-directed online theory
  2. Simulation-based training and assessment at campus
  3. Work Experience Placement in an aged care setting - these can be arranged by either the student or we can find one for you.

The online component can be completed in a maximum period of one year.

How to Apply

The application process involves: application, interview (including a Language, Literacy and Numeracy test), payment and confirmation of enrolment. Applicants must successfully complete each stage in order to enrol.
There are three ways which applicants can submit their initial application:

Course Pathway

CHC40108 Certificate IV in Aged Care is the applicable pathway for this qualification.
Candidates may also like to progress to higher level qualifications within the aged care sector and across the community sector.

This training is delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth Government funding.

T&C’s: 1. The Certificate must be completed within 6 months of enrolment in order for participants to be eligible for this offer. 2. Participants cannot enrol for free in First Aid Course until Certificate is complete. 3. Should participants wish to enrol in First Aid Course prior to finishing their Certificate, payment of $AUD150 is required upfront. If participants enrol and finalise total payment for First Aid Course and then complete the Certificate within 6 months, IHNA will provide participant with $AUD150 rebate.
